Camp Director with the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa
I’d like to offer an employment opportunity to graduating seniors or students who will be age 18 by June 15th. We still have counselor positions available this summer that may be a good fit for students! We’re hiring for two camps located in Boone and Clear Lake, IA. I’ve attached a flyer, application, and job description for you to use, if this is something you’re able to promote. Here are a few highlights that can help in decision making:
· Work Schedule: June 10 – August 14, with breaks between sessions and a long break over the Fourth of July. If you are interested, but have a conflict with a small number of the days we work, go ahead and apply, as we can likely work through your absence.
· Salary: The Unit Counselors salary range is $2000 - $2400, based on experience and additional skills (i.e. lifeguard certification).
· What’s the job like? Being a counselor can be one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have! Every day, you will work with young campers, helping them to grow, develop, and have fun at camp! Yes, you will be working hard! See the included job description for more details.
· Why would I do this? In addition to making a difference, being a camp counselor is a great way to get a head start on the way to becoming a human services professional or a teacher. The skills learned as a staff member at camp are applicable to your college work and your future job search.
Please submit an application here: https://goo.gl/forms/HOKKM2MK89T4UA1C2, as soon as possible, preferably by April 28, 2017, if you’re interested. Compensation will include your salary for the summer, excellent training, certifications (such as First Aid and CPR), plus room, board, and a terrific work experience!
